features Quantum mechnics encompasses virtually all of modern physics. We will frequently discuss topics of current interest, emphasizing recent experiments that test quantum mechanics. Why else would anyone believe such a kooky theory?

grading: The grades will be an average of problem sets, class and problem session participation, two tests, and a final.
